5 Avenues of Service
As Rotarians, we channel our commitment to service at home and abroad through five Avenues of Service, which are the foundation of Club activity.
focuses on making clubs strong. A thriving club is anchored by strong relationships and an active membership development plan. We are very fortunate to have a diverse range of members - Ladies & Men - from a diverse range of businesses and some retired. Ages currently range from early 40s through to our most senior member, a Past Distrcit Governor in his 90s, with a mind as sharp as a 21 year old and still active in our Club and Rotary!
calls on every Rotarian to work with integrity and contribute their expertise to the problems and needs of society. Within our Club, we strive to strike a diverse balance of businesses represented. Many of our members are in the workforce. Many also run their own businesses.
We believe it is important to realise that Rotary commenced as a Business Networking group over 100 Years Ago. Today, Rotary is much more with the Community Service focus we enjoy. But still, our origns revolve around our diverse spread of businesses, all able to contribute to Rotary in their special way, while also enjoying the benefits of doing business amongst themselves. This is another major benefit of being a Rotarian.
encourages every Rotarian to find ways to improve the quality of life for people in their communities and to serve the public interest. Our Club strives to have members introduce new Community projects to our Club. Then collectively, the membership as a whole contributes their experience and passion to helping run those projects. Grass roots support for charities, groups of people or individuals as our community needs.
exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more. A single classic example of this has been our Club's partnership with the Rotary Club of Khartoum, Sudan, Africa, where we jointly comitted to installing a huge fresh water supply to sustain thousands of locals for many years to come.
recognizes the importance of empowering youth and young professionals through leadership development programs such as Rotaract (Rotary for 18 to 30 year olds), Interact (Rotary at School for 14 to 18 year olds), Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (a week long annual Youth Leadership, Training and Empowerment camp) and Rotary Youth Exchange (offering inspirational Youth the opportunity to visit other countries to study and experience other cultures).
