The Rotary Club of Adelaide Central celebrates and congratulates our member Cathy Chong who on Australia Day 2022 was appointed a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM).

Cathy has been recognised for significant service to multiculturalism in South Australia and the community.

An energetic and enthusiastic member of our Rotary family, Cathy is a Paul Harris Fellow, was a Board member and President (2017-18) for the former Rotary Club of Adelaide West, and is currently Youth Services Director for Rotary Adelaide Central.

The range of Cathy's community involvements is extensive. Amongst these are being a Justice of the Peace for SA, President of Chinese Welfare Services of SA Inc, Vice President of Grote Business Precinct and a representative for multicultural communities on numerous forums dealing with issues such as COVID-19, volunteers, women and education.

In 2019 Cathy was a joint winner of the Outstanding Individual Achievement Award in the Govenor of South Australia's Multicultural Awards. To learn more about that award click here.
