Weekly Giant Book Sale

Every Saturday morning between 8.30am and 12.30pm, the Rotary Club of Adelaide West opens up the Arthritis South Australia warehouse down at Marleston to invite the gerneral public into their book sale.

Thousands of fiction, non-fiction and childrens books of all varieties are available for as little as 50 cents through to just $3. Books sold have been donated to Arthritis SA from supporters and the public. New donations always welcome!

Our Club has supported Arthritis SA since the mid-1990s. This new project commenced in early 2012 will continue this rewarding relationship into the future.

Arthritis SA had previously run the sale since 2010 on a once a month basis. Since then, they had found they needed a wider pool of volunteers to bring fresh ideas and available time to run the sale.

Success has been quick, with our Club now having built an excited roster of members and friends willing to open WEEKLY now.

The majority of monies raised from the sale is retained by Arthritis South Australia, with a lesser percentage shared also with Rotary Adelaide West Club to enable us to support other Community Initiatives.

Arthritis SA also benefit from an increased number of people now visiting their premises who also learn more about the wide variety of Research, Education, Exercise and Support Programs they run to benefit their members.

Funds directly assist Arthritis SA to continue their terrific research into ways to alleviate, treat or even cure different forms of Arthritis.

CAR BOOT SALE : Our Club is looking to offer 6 or 7 of the carparks out front for members of the Public to book a spot. We figure that if we have dozens of people visiting already, why not let them browse other people's wares also. Attendance is for only $10 per car - fixed fee.

COMMUNITY TRADING TABLES : Our Club is also looking to assist Schools, Sporting Clubs and Community Groups to run their Trading Tables at the weekly Book Sale. Again, they will benefit from being able to set up even a single fundraising stall at our book sale, to raise funds for their organisation. Everyone wins in this true community spirit event. Attendance is just $15 per Trading Table - and we will supply the Trestle and chairs to sit on. You just bring your wares.
