SA Living Arts (SALA) Festival

ON RIGHT NOW - this exhibition recognises emerging artists in the digital form, providing a mechanism for young artists to display their artwork and art form and to encourage business and industry to support these artists. A number of photographic pieces will be available for purchase.

‘Game Art’ will be a focus point of the exhibition

The TAFESA Game Art course is a two year Advanced Diploma that concentrates on 3D modelling for game technologies.

It is also a broad based screen arts course, and given the uptake of game technologies outside the entertainment genre, graduates are now finding work in simulation, serious games and visualisation.

Business sectors as diverse as property development, transport and emergency services are all benefiting from game technology. The art component involves virtual world building and is crucial to the art, animation, programming and design development pipeline in game creation. Student's qualifications articulate with the Bachelor of Creative Arts: Digital Media at Flinders University.

The exhibition its interactive in the sense that you can walk around using the existing avatar and absorb the environment our students have created. These products will be available for patrons to play with on the computers. Additional to this the students are making documentaries on video about how they came up with their ideas and the production processes they engaged in.

So we are sure you will see that this SALA exhibition will be quite out of the ordinary. A technologically advanced exhibition not previously seen like this in SALA. The photos / graphics in the right hand column give you a small taste of the sheer variety of artwork styles and uses that will be on display. From online gaming to commercial illustration and photography.

ALL WELCOME to attend.
